• We all have experiences that we would rather have forgotten about. It is true that these past experiences have set each of us apart in some unique way. I think that small element of truth is what draws us to feel isolated and alone because of our pasts.  It leaves us feeling like the things that set us apart, break us apart.

As I have grown through my experiences, I am learning to accept the complicated and embrace the simple. This is a learning curve, for sure, but a necessary lesson. I am slowly realizing that these broken parts of ourselves that we feel require the most healing are actually the most important parts of our healing. It is impossible to appreciate the light when you never experience darkness.
