What New approach?

You cannot teach an experience. The subjective nature of trauma often leads us feeling empty, disconnected, abandoned, and extremely isolated. It is in these moments that we so often choose to stop trying to explain our thoughts and feelings because it becomes too exhausting. No one gets us. No one can relate unless they have been through what I have been through, right?

Although there may be elements of truth in this, hidden among these truths are an equal amount of lies that create significant pain for us. Pain that distorts are realities and prevents us from seeing past the burden that is our trauma.

Trauma wounds the soul. Any effort to mend the wounds of trauma must be prepared to deal with the severity of the damage it has caused. Any treatment technique or intervention strategy that seeks to help mitigate the debilitating symptoms of PTSD must be designed to go as deep as the wound.

That is what SITREP brings to the table. It is not a question of whether or not SITREP is prepared to engage with the severity of your PTSD. This program is designed to accept the challenges PTSD creates. The question is, are you willing to accept the challenge?
